Shield Reds 7 – 0 Belmont

Shield reds continued their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable win over Belmont. Shield started brightly and took lead in the 3rd minute when Brooklyn slotted home after good work closing down from his fellow midfielders, the second came from the penalty spot after Brooklyn was crudely taken down by the defender and Adam coolly made it 2-0. Shield continued to press and Rahaim was rewarded after a brilliant run from midfield, After beaten half the opposing players he hit the back of the net with style 3-0.

Shield added a fourth when Charlie t was almost cut in half by the opposition keeper when clean through on goal (not even a talking to from the ref!!!) Adam again coolly despatched the spot kick past the keeper, A fifth was added before half time when Brooklyn grabbed his second of the game again after great work closing down in midfield.

Shield started the second half in the same style, Adding a sixth through Charlie T again after good pressing had forced an error in the opposition defence, We had to wait until 7 minutes from time before Shield added the seventh goal when Charlie T again finished well. The score line could have been a lot greater had Charlie B not hit the bar with what would have been goal of the season!!!! A volley from all of 25 yards which had the keeper beat but unfortunately not the bar. The bar was struck twice more in the second half and with some more composure in front of goal several players could easily have added to the tally.
